Jerry Zomorodian
Director
Born in Tehran, Iran, Jerry Zomorodian immigrated to Sweden before ultimately realizing his dream of becoming a proud citizen of the United States. In 1983, he became part of the Anaheim community through the purchase of the beloved Ali Baba restaurant. Over the years, he owned and operated several small businesses and gas stations before transitioning into real estate development, beginning with a key project in downtown Anaheim.
Grateful for the opportunities this community has given him, Jerry has spent decades giving back through volunteer work and civic involvement. He’s been fortunate to contribute in many ways—only a few of which include serving on the executive boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs and the YMCA, the Downtown Anaheim Association, and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the City’s first Citizens Police Academy (PACE) class and was appointed to the Anaheim Sesquicentennial Commissioner in 2003. He even won the prestigious Man of the Year Award in 2000.
Jerry has also participated in efforts like the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit Adoption Committee, Patriots 4 Pendleton, the Anaheim Fire Department CUPA Advisory Board, Anaheim Police Chief’s Advisory Board, and the Anaheim Honorary Police Association, where he served as chairman from 2007 to 2013. With over 40 years in business, he considers it a true privilege to serve the city he’s proud to call home.
